Some PCBs support the Kailh hotswap sockets. They’re an easy to install way to being able to hot swap your switches.
Contents of the package
- 10x Kailh Hotswap sockets
- Supports either MX or Choc switches.
- Rated for an operating life of 100 cycles, meaning you can expect reliable operation until you’ve swapped out your switches one hundred times.
- Rated for a voltage of 12V and a current of 10mA, making them suitable for use in keyboards.
These sockets can only be used with PCBs that were designed for it. In the Choc switches realm, neither the Ferris Sweep nor the Cantor keyboard support the hotswap sockets. Please check the project’s documentation of the keyboard that you are building if these are supported, or ask me on Discord 🙂
